Beautiful Trash for Beautiful People started in 2023 as the brain-child of Naomi Sawatsky, who wanted to create a barrier-free way to publish Canadian art by those who might face more marginalization and barriers. Soon enough, Hailey Iris was brought on as the design lead, and Magda Baker was brought on as the In-House writer. In 2025 Trashcan Media just kept growing, and we brought on Jasmine Provins as our events coordinator, and Dani Rozali as the operations manager.
